Peter J.Heizmann

Recommended Posts

Hi, folks...Here's the Annual Post...

Traditionally, the regulars on the DF, or, anyone who desires, meet in Class 5 (Motor Scooters)at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday at Hershey.

Always nice to put a face-to-a-computer-keyboard.

Good conversation is guaranteed...

Regards, Peter J.

See you there.

As it stands now, I m taking the Rokon to Hershey, so I will have it in 5A anyway.

After it failed to get is senior at Hershey last year I totally restored it and got it's senior at Metropolis, Now it is up for Preservation.

I wasn't planning on taking the Bird. But soon, I am trying something new I will be going to the Hoosier 250 miles round trip, driving the 55 Bird towing a small trailer with the Rokon on it. I had to put 6 volt lights on the trailer to hook in to the Bird's system.

If it does well I would consider doing the same for the 1400 mile trip to Hershey, except for the fact that I am going with a friend and the bird has absolutely no storage even for one person much less two. Although it would cut down on my swap meet purchases.

See you guys there.

Randall ~ I just spoke with Dan and Wednesday sounds good to me. I leave for the Glidden Tour Thursday AM so I can make it and Dan is off that day. Dan is a native around here so he will be the best one to give you directions. Let's set a time and do it. I hope Amphicar reads this. I used to have his e-mail address, but can't find anything after the move. ~ Howard

Randall ~ 1PM sounds good to me and I will set it up with Dan. For recognition purposes we will probably drive down in some old car. Let you know what it will be later.

Amphicar ~ If you read this and can join the group give us a post.

Randall,

Severance is not hard to find. Go north on I-25 to the Timnath or the Harmony exit, I think it is exit number 265. Go East until you see the sign to Severance, then turn and Severance is not far. When you get to Severance, you will not be able to miss Bruce's Bar. It is on the left when you get to the stop sign. This is a favorite place for most car clubs in Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming. Howard and I will be driving my 50 Chevrolet Convertable.

Great, Diz...the "the Forum Regulars will appreciate it at our annual get-together, I assure you, not to mention the AACA for "future generations".

Well how packed my living room is I have to pull my couch forward to sit down at my computer. This kinda blocks the small hallway to the rest of the house and I jumped over the couch to go get a drink from the kitchen smashing the wall with my foot. My pinky toe was facing completly east as to my others the normal north. Docter had to grab the pinky pulling hard on it I could hear the bone cracking to put it back in place. It hurts ten times worse now after that then when I first broke them. Needless to say I think I'll be doing a little rearanging once my foot heals.

Will I be able to make it now? That is the big question rattling around in my head now. Although I am now able to walk around half way decent now and will have off of work because of my accident, I still have a wedding to go to on saturday and don't know if I'll have the time to make the meeting as the wedding is at 6:00pm in Philly. A question I have is how easy would it be to get around the sites in a wheel chair or would it be better with a set of crutches? I could get these from my brother to make it alot easier on my foot while checking out the sites. I would prefer the wheel chair as its better to rest my foot in a reclined position and wouldn't have to try and carry a chair to rest my foot. But as this could be my first time at Hershey I don't know the layout of the events and if getting around in any grassy areas in the chair would be to difficult. The chair would also be alot easier to carry my camera and other things too. So if I can make it would you suggest the chair or the crutches?

Hi, Scott...good to hear you are making an attempt to come to Hershey.

I can only think of 2 things:

1. Call National Headquarters (717-534-1910). Mind you, they are not the host "Hershey Region", however, one of the ladies answering could possibly give you lead, or, advise.

2. If no definitive answer to your query, pull into the Show area, ask an official, (Police/Security) where to park and satisfy your requirements. One thing for certain, you don't want to park in one of the general parking fields, or, you will have a good hike.

Hopefully, someone from the Hershey Region will chime in here.

To all,

Here is a show field map. The class 5 section is the row above the one in green. This is at the south west side of the field. Note where the Giant Center is in the picture. Note the car corral is where the cycles were last year! See ya there. Karl

Sorry I wasn't there Sal. You know I would have been if at all possible. I'm surprised Novaman wasn't there. And because I wasn't there Saturday I asked Peter Heizmann to take some pictures for us to put on the forum. I've already put in the Hershey Catagory to post them in. I was real jealous of you fellows. Wayne
