Barney Eaton
If you are talking the touch screen on 1988-1989 Reattas, there are several places that will repair them, expect to pay over $200If you can pull it and send it to Rex Service 708-448-5558 it will be done for $100. They are in the Chicago area.
harry yarnell
I am reluctant to go back to Caton Radio, as they botched a CD unit a year ago. And charged a FORTUNE!
harry yarnell
Oh boy, do I have egg on my face. I have been having an internet dialog with Steve Pierce about servicing these '90 IPC's. Seems to know what he's talking about, and sounds like a nice fellow, and at a fair price; only to find out he works at Caton Radio! I'm going to have him refurbish 4 IPC's. To be continued. Barney Eaton
If there is someone out there repairing instrument panels at a good price, doing a good job, and is honest, shouldn't we put the word out to other owners?I can add him to my list of repair sources if he will contact me. Guest tempest68
Do you have Caton Radio's phone number? Do you know their hours? And have they done the touch screens?I dont have a baltimore phone book here at home, but if you dont have it I might have access to one at work tomorrow. harry yarnell
I get the feeling that he's doing this on the side, and not involving Caton Radio. This gets sticky. Let me talk to Steve and see if he's agreeable to persue further work; it could be a win-win situation. But he might get in trouble with his boss. I've got his cell phone #. The reason I think this is, he's charging $100 to repair a '90 IPC. I KNOW Caton would charge more. Also he wanted to get the panel from me AFTER work, in the Circuit City parking lot! Guest tempest68
If possible, find out today. I'm going to call another place here in York to see if they can work on it or not. But if not, my wife needs to go to Towson later today. If he can work on it, I can drop her off and then see Steve.
harry yarnell
As I suspected, he's doing this on the side. But with access to eqpt. at work. Use his e-mail to contact. spierce64@sprintpcs.com He said that he's done the crt's, but parts are getting scarce. The actual touch screen and associated circuit board on the side is EXPENSIVE if it is in need of replacing. He mentioned that the average price for crt repair is $150, but each must be evaluated on a one to one basis. He also takes Paypal.
