Guest
I have an 89 Reatta, recent repair history: local auto shop replaced water pump 4 months ago, harmonic balancer 3 mos ago, replaced timing gear, sprocket, tensioner, chain, magnet AND remanufactured ECM module ONE WEEK AGO. Engine was running fine after, lots of power, much improved gas mileage. Now I am getting Engine Controls Service Engine Message and Vehicle Computer Communications Problem Message. Cleared all codes yesterday, two codes are current E047 ( ECM - BCM coomunications problem ) and B334 ( Loss of ECM Data). Service Engine telltale and Communicaitns Problem Messages are INTERMITTENT, go on and off while driving. While on RPM display will not register RPMs or instantaneous miles per gallon display, if driving with cruise on and warning messages display can feel a loss of power in cruise mode. A/C may or may not work during intermittent problems. Other issues known about car: Dash dimmer switch for auxilary panel lights is defective, has been problem for a few months.Need expert help please as can I not afford more expensive repair bills at this time and I am not mechanically inclined. Suspect remanufactured ECM at fault but auto shop thought it is now BCM. OUCH!!!Elfin

tjenkins
Another idea - does the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) have a good connection on the back of the display?--Tom
