Guest
I have a 1966 442, 12 bolt, open differential that is in need of both axle gears, both pinion gears and the pinion shaft, ring gear and pinion are o.k.. My question is, will any of the inners from a 1969 olds 98 with a 12 bolt open center interchange???
another old car
1hurtin442if you haven't done a rear end gear swap before , I would say pay the manto do job yourself , you'll need to buy ring gear set plus a install kit ( bearings - shims - crush sleeve - etc )your going to need a housing spreader - dial indicator - filler gauge - torque wrench - manual most 4WD shops can do it in a daygood luck with project aoc
66400
'66 442's used a 10 bolt differential so apparently someone has swapped it out. A 98 rear end assembly is much larger and heavier than one for "A" body cars so there won't be any parts interchange there. Henry
