Ken Rosenzweig
I was just wondering if there are any figures for how much of the Reatta fleet is still on the road. You sometimes see figures from a manufacturer claiming that they have the highest percentage of 10- or 15-year-old cars still on the road based on vehicle registration records. Are there any registration figures out there that would show how many of the 21,751 (correct me if I'm wrong) Reattas are still on the road?Just curious. reattadudes
according to auto registration gurus R.L.Polk and Company, over 18,000 Reattas are still on the road in the US and Canada (84%).this does not include still-new, never sold Reattas, which we estimate at 200, or Reattas abroad, which we estimate at 250.Mike

reattadudes
we have personally seen 83 new Reattas. we found many quite by accident, while stopping at Buick dealers around the country to leave our business cards. it can happen anywhere: there is a dealer in Ohio who has eleven: eight convertibles and three coupes, all kept in a dark climate-controlled room. and it goes all the way down to a tiny, full-line GM dealer in rural Kentucky who has two black/flame red 1991 convertibles up on blocks, both with less than one hundred miles, seat plastic and window stickers still intact.the one thing all these people share in common is they demanded our total secrecy, as they have no desire to sell the cars at this point, and don't want anyone bothering them.there is no question of many new ones unaccounted for: there is not a majority of select-sixtys in the database, as these seem to be the most common ones that were saved and put away. these people knew a "keeper" when they saw it.as we stop at even more dealers in the future, we look forward to finding even more. I must say that it is quite a thrill to have someone slide back the door of a darkened room, flip on a light switch, and there is a brand-new Reatta!Mike
