Guest
Does anyone know of a place that has rebuild kits or rebuild service for Delco Lovejoy Duodraulic 1626B lever arm shock absorbers? Mine are off of a 1929 Franklin and need to be rebuilt. I started to take them apart today to find dried up oil in a crusty mess. I'm restoring a "barn find" in fairly good condition. It is a great project that I am just starting. Thanks in advance for any info. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
RoadsterRich
Try Apple Hydraulics (http://www.applehydraulics.com/ ). I have not used their service, however I hear they do good work. I'm sure others have comments and suggestions too. Apple Hydraulics was the company recommended for me to send mine to (Something I have yet to do). My 1930 Chrysler 77 also uses the Duodraulic lever shocks.Rich
29 Chandler
If you are interested in rebuilding them yourself there was a great series of articles in Skinned Knuckles magazine. I recently used the article to rebuild one of my Lovejoys on our 1929 Chandler. It was not too hard.

nickelroadster
I posted this information a couple of years ago. Look up a post called "lever shock leak cure". It is in the prewar Buick section.
