Guest
Should the engine number match the chassis number on an original car ? Or is there a known mismatch? (1923 and 1926 DB )
Guest imported_RAH
Shooting, As a rule of thumb, so to speak, the engine number will be approximately 50,000 higher than the official car number on the frame. The body numbers are pretty much irrelevant in determining correct vintage. This carried through the 20's but the numbers got closer for some reason in the late 20's. Not sure why. I hope this helps.
