Mike Bartlett
Whats the chances of locating a 33 Willys coupe? Any websites out there,I'm having some trouble even using a search engine.Did the drag racers use them up in the 60's?
Guest DeSoto Frank
Have never seen a stocker.....Don't think they made that many to start with, compared to other marques, plus the fondness that the racers had for them...I remember the plastic models from the '60's (AMT or Revel?) of the 1933 Willys "77" coupe AND the Sedan Delivery!Stock Willys from 1930 onward seem to be pretty rare, especially coupes.Frank McMullen

Guest DeSoto Frank
Sorry about that, Chief !If I trip over any un-molested examples, I'll let you know right away!Actually, ANY stock Willys anything isn't too common these days....most of the Utility Trucks or Wagons I see have all sorts of "up-dated" running gear/ suspension...some of it neatly done, and some of it positively ghastly!I have one of the few bone stock Willys pick-ups still running around NE PA, right down to the bill of sale in the polyethylene Willys envelope along with the owner's manual, etc.Wonder how many Street Rodsters, Dragtsers, and other Custom guys would be "horrified" if someone took a famous Willys "77" Hot rod coupe and restored it to Factory Original condition ? <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />I can see the ad now: "Free : 331 Hemi, mag wheels, tube axle, etc from Willys rod project- no longer needed. You pick-up."Frank McMullen

1937hd45
I don't think you'll find anyone restoring a Willys coupe, the early "77" or the later 37-41 version. Why not find a stock Willys chassis and put a fiberglass coupe body on it? The Rodders stepped up YEARS ago and bought most of them. No one can afford to restore one, I don't think there is one out there for less than $20,000.00, and that is a starter pile.
Bill Stoneberg
When you find them, they have usually turned into these.....And you should see the engine.
