Chuck Richardson
I just acquired a Maxwell. The old owner believed it to be a 1911 AB (the motor has an AB serial number). The roadster body has a "Maxwell Messenger" plaque and different serial number, which one book I have says makes it a 1912. Also, if someone could send me a note on how the transmission lever works and what rate oil should drip in the feeders, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Guest maxihc
My 1906 Instruction book says 12 to 15 drops and my 1909 book says 15 to 20.Leroy Francies
twrcars
Hi. Sounds as though you have a Messenger with an AB engine. The Messenger body, hood and radiator are distinctively different from the AB . Messenger engines are AC. Lever works as follows. from back to front. reverse, neutral, low, neutral, high. How it works mechically is the topic of many more words.
Chuck Richardson
Thanks for the reply. Turns out it is an AB to which someone in the distant past added the Messenger plate.
