Receiving an email or private message from a scammer does NOT indicate a forum security breach, nor does it mean the forum has been compromised in any way.

 

The forum is publicly accessible, meaning anyone—including scammers—can view posts just as easily as legitimate users. This is an inherent risk of open platforms. Similar problems occur on nearly every public forum and platforms like Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. Anytime posts, ads, or messages are visible to the public, scammers will inevitably take advantage of the opportunity. It’s an unfortunate reality of online spaces.
