Hillwilliam Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Were there 2 body trims in 1925, or is one of these a 1926?
rocketraider Posted November 9 Posted November 9 The 1925 picture is the same one in Standard Catalog of Oldsmobile 1897-1997. I think the second picture is a 1926. That's going by the one-piece windshield and dogbone radiator cap, which show on all the 1926 pictures in SCO. I wish the SCO went into more detail on prewar cars.
Hillwilliam Posted November 10 Author Posted November 10 Thank you for your help. It would be nice to have a more detailed guide in these matters. I have many pictures in my list of cars proposed as 1925 that look like the 2nd, and only a few like the first. I was sure there must be a difference, even if there were an early and a late version. Again, thank you. Gordon
Steve Moskowitz Posted November 12 Posted November 12 No late version. The top version is a 1925 and the second a 1926. There should be more than enough information out there between several books on Oldsmobiles or in our library or the REO Transportation Library. Not sure what you mean by a detailed guide but sales brochures, operating manuals, etc are available with a bit of digging.
Hillwilliam Posted November 13 Author Posted November 13 Thanks for your help. I thought that since Oakland and Buick changed to the double belt in 26, surely Olds must have as well. The other differences are a bonus.
