RMawyer Posted November 2 Posted November 2 (edited) Good day. New member of forum after acquiring 1975 International Harvester 200 3/4 pickup. Immediately named "Rusty" by me, and "Rusto-mod" by my wife, so lots of rust (surface and complete) to deal with. Tailgate is rusted through on bottom; driver's side rockers and cab front also rusted through. What vendors are good sources for parts? Has strong rebuilt 392 engine, so initial focus will be on repairing rust spots and simple maintenance (replace shocks, replace exhaust, etc.). Excited to get started! Any advice would be appreciated. Edited November 10 by RMawyer (see edit history) 3
Fleek Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Welcome. Sounds like a good project. We love pictures here so please share some with us. There are several good parts possibilities. Here is one that may be able to supply some of your needshttps://travelallparts.com/travelall/c125
RMawyer Posted November 10 Author Posted November 10 Thanks. Could only upload 2 pictures before limit.
ShawnG Posted November 10 Posted November 10 I love IHC trucks but be aware, it's going to get 10mpg loaded, unloaded, uphill, downhill, etc. The upside is, those are medium duty truck engines put into light duty trucks so it's going to be good for around 500,000 miles. The Big Three all put car engines in trucks. I see some boffin put the wrong carburetor on it. 1975 means it should still have old reliable points ignition. The later trucks got a Holley electronic ignition that works great until it doesnt'
