Hunter Kopp
Hi all, I made a post a while back about what to keep an eye out for when buying a 1926 dodge sedan. Well I went and bit the bullet and bought it. I’m now looking to buy a small library of literature for this car. However, I’m am unsure of what edition of book of information I need. My car’s serial number is approximately 627,000 which places it in late April/early May, 1926. I believe it is what is called a 2 unit system? It has the separate generator and starter. It is 6 volt as well. Just figured I would ask where to start with this old girl. I’m currently working on getting the motor freed up and getting ready to buy new tires for it so it rolls a lot easier. Many thanks! Hunter Kopp
My gut tells me that the 18th edition is what I need as that was produced in September of 1926 according to Myers early dodge.
Mark Gregush
I would suggest getting the 1914-1927 mechanics Instruction Manual before the Book of information. 1914-1927 Dodge Brothers Factory Repair Shop Manual Car and Truck Service | eBay 2
Minibago
The North East electric bulletin 30 would be relevant to your car too. 1
DB25Touring
According to the DBClub site it would be the 18th edition, published Sept. 1926. The prices seem to be all over the place. Here is one in Australia: https://www.gould.com.au/book-of-information-dodge-brothers-motor-vehicles-c1927/au9302/ The Book of Informaton is basically the owner's manual, and you would still want one. But if you don't already have it, what you want for working on the car is the mechanic's instruction manual mentioned earlier. A reprint is available from https://www.faxonautoliterature.com/, which is the same source as as the eBay listing. Good luck.
Lahti35
Collect them all.... The Mechanics Instruction Manual, Book of Information, Stewart vacuum tank booklet, and the North East Electrical booklet. Throw a Dykes manual in there too for some extra period repair info.
3macboys
Don't forget a parts catalog - the exploded views are worth as much as the parts numbers.
