Note: Here is an oddity possible back then when even topline models came with basic 6-cylinder engines and no power accessories as standard, when the options list was long, just check the boxes to order what one wanted. A top-of-the-AMC line 1966 Ambassador DPL 2dr Hardtop ordered with only automatic transmission, optional hounds tooth bucket seat interior with matching pillows, radio, and heater/defroster. No V8, no A/C, no Power Steering or Power Brakes, no vinyl top and maybe others not visible in the photos.

Sal Hepatica
Very unusual top of the line DPL, few options. Those are the original DPL-only houndstooth seats- and rare that the pillows are intact. Maybe ordered as an advertising loss leader by the dealer. The odder thing is that it survived! Why the seller won't spring for a brake job is even odder to me! Throw those flame floor mats in the dumpster. Missing the headlight bezels. The brake wheel cylinders are around $10 plus shipping on Rockauto. It's a cool car for sure.
