Walt G
Still cleaning and sorting stuff I bought at Hershey - This is ( I think) a Stearns motormeter face plate to be mounted to the front side of a lollipop style motormeter. 3 studs cast into the Knight figure at the back are peaned over to hold to the brass disc. Knight is 3 1/2 high disc is 2 1/2 in diameter. The figure is cast in white metal or pewter - can't be sure. no cracks and really great detail. Fairly heavy casting too. Have not polished it, just cleaned the accumulated crud off with Simple green. I love odd stuff like this of this era of orphan vehicles. ( I know some people I have as 'friends' are thinking - yeah he likes odd stuff cause he is odd.......... no it is not for sale)
TexRiv_63
Cool. That figure looks genuine but not sure how that would attach to a Boyce Motometer with the holes in that location.
TerryB
I wonder if it attached to a dog bone type radiator filler top. Some of them had optional letters you could add to them to personalize and perhaps you could add this instead.

Walt G
On the back it has a section at the shoulders that is contoured to curve over the edge of rim of the motor meter and leave the head and helmet part of the figure above the top of the curve .I will try to take a photo of that to show here and ad ( I am in the middle of writing two stories that I have to send in plus do some other research - no rest for the weary!). thanks for looking at this and sharing your thoughts! Really sincerely appreciate solving the use of a near century old car accessory part. Walt
TheMoneyPit
I have the same figure and sold a second a little while back that had the mounting plate but he was missing the sword which was a separate piece added to the main piece to simplify the casting process. It is made of a pewter like material . The mascot complete is a motor meter made by Moto-eye according to “Motoring Mascots of the World” by Bill Williams. The only other similar mascot I know of is for a Lexington car. 1
