Leif in Calif Posted October 1 Posted October 1 I kinda doubt "When restored, it's worth about $90k. Maybe more". A few more pictures would sure help...at least the price is good on a pre-pound basis. https://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/d/novato-extremely-rare-1941-chrysler/7789741202.html Extremely rare per war 1941 Chrysler Crown Imperial Limo. Extremely Rare 1941 Chrysler Crown Imperial Limo. Straight Eight in line Engine can do over 100 mph. The Crown Imperial Special Town Sedan C-30 was a one-year-only model, priced at $1760, 894 were built. And unspecified number were fitted with an electric chauffeur partition window. This one has that rare window. Privacy from chauffeur is a glass power window divider hidden in the front seat back. This car needs restoration. When restored, it's worth about $90k. Maybe more. It's been stored for years in a barn in Petaluma. All the pieces to the car are there, right down to the cloisonne hood and trunk emblems and the hubcaps and beauty rings. One lower front fender aluminum trim piece missing. Although not pictured, the original 6 volt radio is included. Excellent candidate for restoring back to original. I have a couple of bumper guards that have been re-chromed and enough new Mohair fabric to do the entire car. Brand new uninstalled muffler and pipes are included as well. 6 volt system. Very first car in America to introduce power windows and semi-automatic transmission. I have a good replacement chrome bar for the one front grille bar that is broken, lower left of picture. Some surface rust. Solid car throughout, very minimal rust overall. Dash cluster is perfect. These slightly shortened limos were gifted from the Chrysler factory, to the dealers who sold the most cars back in that year. DMV verify is needed, but not difficult. Trailer the car there and they will take care of that on the spot. Car is located in Novato. $4,500. Cash, Zelle or CC only. Call, text or email Ross. 415 828-15 three zero Only $4,400. Offer.
TerryB Posted October 1 Posted October 1 We have seen this gem before. https://forums.aaca.org/topic/421464-for-sale-1941-chrysler-crown-imperial-4dr-town-sedan-project-4700-novato-ca -not-mine/#comment-2729053 The great deal isn’t getting too many bites. 1
Old Tom Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Wow I had a 1942 Packard 180 that had power windows. I still learning I thought it was the first to have power windows.
The 55er Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I just don't see this particular car as anything special. The seller's statement that this 4-door Town Sedan is worth $90K (or more) when restored is just absurd. The JD Power high retail figure of $23,100 is more realistic but even that figure might be optimistic. Again, rarity doesn't always equal desirability. 1 1
