Speedster Racer c. 1910 Is there Enough to Identify?

Another Long shot - maybe someone can ID the car?
Supposedly the man in the picture was a locally famous race car driver in the Ventura, California area, but I don't have a name. 

Any thoughts?

From the shifter and brake arm, this looks like a T head Mercer.
