File structure question

The file structure shows the main category for General Motors with a subfile for Buick, etc.  FIle headings are copied below.  I see that there are items/cars for sale under the main file of General Motors.  When looking at a subfile like the Buick file, I see many identical listings in both files, but several different things listed.  How does the file structure work?  If I were selling, would I advertise in both locations: General Motors and Buick?

 

General Motors Automobiles and Parts - Buy/Sell

 Buick - Buy/Sell

 

 Oldsmobile - Buy/Sell

 

 Chevrolet & GMC - Buy/Sell

GM shows all topics including whats in the marque forums.

The marque forums only show the marque topics. 

 

so if you create a topic in a marque forum, then it will show up automatically in the gm primary forum too.
