MotiveLensPhoto
Only 2 hours drive for me, so I was thinking of going this year. Is it worth it? BTW, the dates are 09/27 - 09/29.
JFranklin
If you drive slow enough to enjoy the scenery and roadside attractions, it surely should be worth it.

My house backs to cornfields. I-55 is cornfields, soybeans, and windmills. I'm rolling 75 mph the whole way, except around Bloomington where the cops like to hide. Packard enthus.
Just curious to see how many people are left who know what it was really like to drive cross-country on the real U.S. Highway 66, and why under the laws established by the then Bureau Of Public Roads, it could NOT be called a "route"....? JFranklin
Don't know the route question but did drive X-country back in the early 70's on 66. It was a great trip!
MotiveLensPhoto
This isn't about driving the remnants of the road (I've driven most of the Illinois portion already), it's about going to the festival (one of likely many organized along Route 66) in Springfield, IL.
