Jeff Perkins / Mn
The only WK I have had any experience with was owned by a friend. Interesting car but it smoked like a coal furnace while running. My friend stated “ they all do that”. No one in our area had any experience with the WK and all were reluctant to take the car in for diagnosis.

Jeff, The Stearns-Knight thread by @edinmass regarding the sorting and tuning of the 1929 Stearns Knight J8-90 owned by @alsancle is an eye opener on the subject of smoking from sleeve valve engines. The thread is very interesting reading but the result was that the engine was way overlubricated and smoking was dramatically reduced. Kent We have at least 500 miles on that engine since Ed swapped in the new oiler valve and set it to factory settings. The original one was cast metal and had worn badly. There are 4 settings on it 1,2,3,4 with 2 being the factory setting and 4 being the most oil which is what it was set to. My car also has a Skinner Oil Rectifier on it which might help. 4
Jeff Perkins / Mn
@kar3516 Thanks for the info and link Kent! I will follow the link and watch the video. Too bad the people consulted by the owner did not try to “read the directions first”. To paraphrase Ed M, there are a lot of tractor mechanics out there….. 58L-Y8
Interesting W-K, mostly original, either a Model 56 or 70A, I'd opine the latter. Photos for the record.
JRA
Seems to be a short wheelbase model.
