Old Head Dual Quad guru needed!

I have a 4x2 64 Riviera and i could never get it to idle lower than 900-1100 rpm at idle. I have noticed that the rear carb is sucking ALOT of air down the secondary barrels even when I have the air idle screw all the way in blocking off the air intake. I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between these rear carb and a normal Carter AFB diagram wise too.
