straight8pontiac
Hello everyone...I am in the process of restoring the bottom, front seat frame for a 1937 Pontiac Touring Sedan. Given a box of seat hardware, I have begun to attach seat guides and runners to the bottom of the seat frame and the car floor. My attachment shows 2 springs which I need help positioning and fastening to the seat assembly. Does anyone have an exploded diagram from a Master Parts catalogue, or your own photos of a similar rebuild, or any info as to where the springs are attached to the underside of the seat frame? Thanks for any help you can give me in my restoration...Dave atta
JMickulin
I am doing the same thing on my 37 but I think I am missing a few parts. Did you ever get yours put together?
straight8pontiac
Hello JM... Yes, I recently got back to this project and was able to determine the correct position of the springs. As you can see by my picture, the left end of the spring goes into a small 90 degree bracket fastened to the bottom of the seat frame. The right end goes into a similar bracket which is in a short recessed area that is part of the cars floor pan. My picture doesn't quite show the right bracket. Good luck with your project...
