AzBob
Back in the '70's growing up in the farm country of southern Idaho, someone had turned one of these big 1929 Buick sedans into a pickup. They actually did a pretty good job with the conversion. It was parked on a residential street and one time I got up the gumption to knock on the door and ask if it was for sale. Of course, it was not for sale. I continued to see that 1929 Buick pickup occasionally driving around for a few years after that. Don't know whatever became of it.
jps
Looks to be either a model 41 or 51, but either way it is a Master and not a Standard
paulrhd29nz
Are those rear bumpers for real ? Or did someone mess up assembly ?

Sal Hepatica
Sometime after the war, my father in law bought a '29 Buick sedan. His father said it was too dangerous to drive and forced him to sell it. He is 95- and still resents that his dad made him sell it.
jps
Sometimes people extend out the rear bumpers when they add a trunk in back. It looks like this was done on this car. It is similar to what I have seen done on other '29s. The model 41 & 51 have a shorter body that better accommodates either a rear trunk or double rear spare tires. In '27 & '28 a rear trunk deck was standard on this model but in '29 I think it was removed.
