AndyC
Recently purchased a 62 chrysler new yorker, that I am trying to restore to original. The ledge behind the rear seat, appears to be made of wicker like material. It has a couple of tears and is faded, Does anyone know of a source for repair/replacement??
mopar380
Hi Andy,I am not positive where you will get that material, I haven't seen it myself on a 62. My own car, a 1962 Chrysler 300 has painted-grained -cardboard material for the rear package shelf. It's positive the New Yorkers had different stuff, but I can't recollect at this time. You might want to try Gary Goers at www.garygoers.com He specializes in Chrysler restoration stuff from the late fifties to early sixties and is excellent, he actually manufactures a lot of items himself. I have purchased leather upholstery and headliner material for my 300 from him.If he doesn't have the wicker type stuff he may know where to find it. best regards,Ian [color:"blue"]
