fosbreed1
Has anyone ever successfully removed the glass from the front vent wing window without first removing the window frame and if so what process did you use? I want to replace the glass on both vent wing windows on my 39 Special without having to remove the entire vent window assembly. Thanks in advance ! Matt Harwood
You could try heating up the glue holding it in place and try to pull it out of the frame. I seem to recall it's pretty strong and I ended up breaking the glass and chiseling it out with a screwdriver. Basically it comes out the way you think so just use heat and patience on it.
pont35cpe
I used 2 small flat blade screw drivers, inserting the blade between the glass and the frame(do this with vent window in the open position)work the blade up/down, which will spread the frame a little, as you work it, the glass will slide on out.

Jolly_John
Ah, yes...when all else fails, consult the shop manual! Now if I could only remember where I last put down my Hinckley Myers B-180 tool. I'm sure it's here in the shop somewhere. John Edited January 22 by Jolly_John (see edit history)
