Marauder, factory air, good 60s colors- this is the nicest early 60s Mercury that's shown up here yet.

I could enjoy a car like this. Glad it's been in the owner's hands for a while and, even though I think they're cool, glad it didn't undergo transformation to an S-55.

Sure is a nice looking car at what seems like a very reasonable price. The only suggestion that I have is that might help the sale of this car would be to include some pics of the interior that would show the bucket seats and the console. Until it was mentioned that the S-55 designation included the upgrade in the interior, I thought it had a bench seat. GLWTS.

Seller has some of the parts to convert it to S-55 trim level but didn't follow through.

The Mercury branded hang-on AC would probably fit atop the S-55 console but no mention is made of a floorshift steering column.

I say leave this pretty Mercury as is and, if the spare parts are included in the deal, keep the sheetmetal just-in-case and sell the S-55 parts. Not 100% sure but I believe the bucket seats and console are the same on the Galaxie XL and used 1962-1964.
