jhhermansen
Would it be possible to swap the Split Six engine with a Stovehead Chevrolet engine without too much modifications? I am considering removing the Split Six from my 1929 for a total overhaul, and yesterday I found a 1948 Stovehead complete engine w/transmission for sale in my neighbourhood. Could I use the Stovehead as a (temporary) replacement? The stovehead is the older version, with the engine mount in front of the engine (like the Split Six) and not on the sides like newer Stoveheads. GARY F
You will have a lot to contend with, motor mounts, linkages, exhaust, drive shaft, cooling hoses, etc.
Bloo
Literally everything is on the wrong side. Exhaust, fuel, throttle linkage, etc. I don't know if you could get it connected to the transmission easily or not. I suspect not.
