1937hd45
Unsold things are put away till next year, hood I bought has one stubborn pin that I'm trying to remove. Filled five barrels with leaves, what are your fall/winter car plans? Having all four doors fit and working on the '29 Model A by Spring time is my goal. Need to take some photo to go with a new thread I plan to start tomorrow. Edited October 11, 2023 by 1937hd45 (see edit history)
John348
Took all of the tarps out of the bins today and refolded them and made sure they were dry from the morning dew from last Thursday. Leaves did not change yet here on Long Island.

Gonna make progress on the 72 MGBGT. How'd I ever have time to work? Good seeing you at Hershey Bob. It's been a long time for us, collecting plugs. Steve_Mack_CT
Packard: sort vapor lock; install super nice trunk handle and maybe replace the door handles. Replace mirrors and headlight retainer rings (bought at Hershey 22!) Model A: wiring harness Mercedes: tune up Organize spares and stuff bound for swap meet scene in 24. Nothing major really. But a plan... 😊

Littlestown Mike
I have a '64 Falcon that I hope to get ready for paint before it gets too cold--that would be around Thanksgiving. I plan to prep the entire under hood area and paint it with satin black. All of the suspension and steering components will be removed, cleaned and returned to original appearance and then reinstalled. All that before the cold weather arrives. After that, i have the engine and transmission to rebuild and install. The car is a 6 cyl and from all I see at the car shows, people could be forgiven if they thought ALL Falcons, Mustangs and Mavericks came with V8 engines---Mine is staying as a SIX with the original drum brakes as a tribute to the MILLIONS that were built that way. Busy Winter That's just the car work--- Several projects for the house and yard. I just finished de-thatching the yard and fertilizing it. Over-seeding the bare spots will happen just before the coming rain. A few stumps to burn out and remove. Some siding to pressure wash, wooded deck to repaint, old above-ground swimming pool to remove. TAKerry
One of these days, sooner than later I hope, I want to wash the road grime off of my car from the 4 hour round trip in the rain to get to Hershey and back! Also need to get into the nooks and crannys for a good once over. THEN, I hope to get the motor in my 79, so it will be on the road for the spring! RansomEli
I'm going to see if I can get a 1908 REO 1-cylinder running again. It's been dormant for at least 60 years, maybe more. Going to take my time and try to get some pieces rebuilt beforehand - water pump, timer, coil box, radiator. Not a lot of printed out there, but I am a member of the Early REO Group. They have a lot of collective info. If you have any advice or can offer services, please contact me.

Many I know ( I have never...) head South --- do Moultry , GA., Perry, GA., on the way to the Daytona Turkey Rod Run, in Daytona, Fla. --- and then stay in Florida, for Zephyr Hills, Sumter County, Lakeland, and others.... mobileparts
Thompson Speedway Car Show, at the track itself, inside the track and out, Is 33 % Antique Car Parts , 33 % Race Car Parts , and 33 % Garage Sale / Assorted Everything but the Kitchen sink..... It is certainly N O Carlisle or HERSHEY , but is clearly one of New England's biggest shows --- Far better than Stafford Springs and Lake Compounce --- old or new.... Thompson was # 2 --- but with .Mansfield, Mass. --- Great Woods / Xfinity Center now NO LONGER --- Thompson is # 1......
Steve_Mack_CT
Thx! Used to hit Stafford a lot but haven't been in a while. We did Compounce a couple years ago and I thought it was a used snowblower, chainsaw and worn out modern size tire swap meet... 😯 May do Thompson after all... 1937hd45
Stafford may have too many snow blowers, but the $10.00 Lozier hub cap was one of my greatest finds there. Hit Thompson once, just so far away and in the same state.

I needed to be in Hershey by 630 Friday so I left home at 430 am. I didnt figure on the traffic being lighter and hitting all of the lights green! I got there in 1hr and 15 minutes. That was fine as I had time to spare, but it did rain all the way up. After the show I was on the road for about 15 minutes before the rain hit again, all the way home! Still havent cleaned my car yet.

STEVE POLLARD
Now I remember it..... I'll have to look at the video tape of the cars entering the show field to see it in action 🙂 it's a beauty !! 1
TAKerry
I looked at the one with the link that was posted and did not see myself. I was on the field pretty early, however I did find the same type of video from last year which did show me entering the show.
ericmac
On my '13 Ford, rebuild both front and rear axles. Once done, that car is at a point where I'm calling it finished. On the '26 Ford Fordor, complete the chassis and paint the body. That will probably take me through the winter. On the '26 Ford Touring, get it stored better, off the tires. Sort it into a "kit" to be tackled in a couple years. My '25 Ford Touring? I think I'm going to sell it. That's it.
