Rattaboy
There is a silver '90 coupe on E-Bay (Okla.) that states it has original paint, yet the stripe is continuous, does not have the break under the side window. Non original stripe would say to me the paint also is probably not original.
Guest Reatta1
Unless somebody didn't like the break and added to it. Just a thought.
reattadudes
another possibility: the car was ordered with the stripes deleted, and they were added later.
Jhellman
I have a 90 and it has continuous stripes. I am pretty sure the paint is original - if it isn't somebody did a very good paint job on it. I was told that the paint was original. The stripes are the only thing that does not look factory. BTW - my car came from Oklahoma?? J. M. HellmanLubbock TX
Jim
I too have seen a couple of '90 Reattas with a continuous stripe that looks like it was on the car since new. One of the cars, for sure, had not been repainted and you could tell the stripe had been on the car for a long time as it was starting to wear off a little like many of the others.Barney, do you have any knowledge of this or ideas? Guest
What is this stripe 'break'?Does anyone have a picture?
Tinker
Hi,I don't have a picture but, I can describe it to you.On my 88, the pinstriping starts just above the front turn signal and then stops under the side view mirror. then, 26 inches later, just above and to the front of the door handle, it starts again and continues around the rear of the trunk lid to the other door handle where it stops again and, 26 inches later, from under the other side view mirror, continues on to the other front turn signal. The 26 inch gaps in the pinstriping are called "breaks" in the very steady handed world of pinstripers.
