6T-FinSeeker
For sale on Facebook: 1957 Dodge Royal Lancer 2dr Hardtop in Noxen, PA - $19,500 - Must be a member of Facebook to access Seller's contact information. Link: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/213374771672888/-1957-Dodge-2-door-Hardtop Seller's Description: 1957 Dodge Royal Lancer 2dr Hardtop 3+ owners Driven 87,500 miles Automatic transmission Exterior color: Green · Interior color: Green Clean title This vehicle has no significant damage or problems This is a 1957 Dodge Coronet Lancer or a Royal Lancer. it has the 325.1 red ram motor it’s a two-door hardtop the interior was replaced some years ago and it was re-painted it has only had two owners besides myself it has minor rust damage on the lower quarters behind the rear tires and some minor rust damage on the lower side of the bumpers front and rear. This is a true classic it’s an attention getter and there are not many of them on the road these days it is priced well under the book value which from what I understand is between $32 and $45,000 I have priced it below the book value commiserating with the work that it needs it also has new tires and brakes and all that and I am having a slight problem with the brakes nothing serious. Xander Wildeisen
I really like the grill, no wait. That’s the bumper. I really like the bumper, no wait. That’s the grill. I wish they made the bumper just a little bit bigger. Maybe tying in the headlights into the bumper, could make it look just a bit bigger.🤔

The car is actually a Royal Lancer. As for its potential values and current asking price, the seller is delusional on all counts as his car just isn't that nice. 1

kingrudy
Perfect car? No. High option, low production car? No. That said, I am a Fin-Addict and this car has some beautiful fins, sweet two tone paint and overall a real cool design. I do not know if this is a 20k car, but I do know that this car in a two door and all in one piece doesn't show up real often. I am not wearing beer goggles, the chrome will have to be done and having re chromed my car that is not cheap. IMO this is a style that should be finished and brought back to show room glamor.
The 55er
Someone might find this Swept-Wing Dodge interesting enough to restore but at what cost? It's a 2-door hardtop but other than that it's nothing special IMO. It has a 2-bbl carburetor, it's not a top of the line model and it doesn't have the D500 package. For starters there are 3 bumpers to restore, $3000. New steering wheel $1000. New wide whites $1000. Needs better seats & interior, $2000. (I am just throwing some possible figures out there!) I don't know what the exterior paint condition is like but if a car is to be worth $32K-$40K like the seller says the paint job better be perfect, $10,000 minimum if it stops at that with the "minor" rust repair. Needs the brakes fixed and a good engine and possible trunk detailing, and there are sure to be some other little things too, $1000. OK, now we're into this car for about $37,500. Again I am pulling figures out of the air. Is it worth it? Is somebody willing to invest that much in this particular car? I certainly wouldn't but time will tell.........GLWTS.
DrumBob
Rusty bumpers, puke green fuzzy dice, crumbling steering wheel, new brakes that don't function properly, and a delusional seller who is asking twice what it's worth, and doesn't know what punctuation is. Another yo-yo on drugs. Edited July 23, 2023 by DrumBob (see edit history)
Jim Skelly
"commiserating" ... probably meant to say "commensurate" In any case, it needs a lot of work for the asking price.

Dan adams
Hi everyone I bought the car for $11,000 drove it home 275 miles with zero issues. I'm just gonna drive it as is and enjoy. I have a question is this a Coronet or Royal Lancer? It's nice to have the original invoice love the fins and rare color combo. The car was purchased 9/18/57. It definitely has zero options, bare to the bone, but I haven't seen many with the radio delete plate either. It's a super cool car I love it so far!!! 8

John_S_in_Penna
I hope Dan Adams the buyer--who is evidently now the seller-- is doing okay. Maybe the car wasn't quite to his liking, or its needs didn't fit his budget. We always want buyers of antique cars to be able to enjoy them! 3
