Hans1965
Absolutely amazing car! Great color combination. 63 years of ownership says something. This guy loved his car.
TerryB
Was it a green car that got painted black? Interior is great. Those late 1950s cars had quite a range of interior colors. Would be good to see an under hood photo.
Rivguy
I used to walk past one of these on my way to the bus stop in 1968, even at 14 years of age I thought someone had gone overboard with the chrome. I do like the color combo, especially the interior. This is definitely your Father's Oldsmobile!
The 55er
As I see it if you're trying to sell a vintage 4-door car for $34K it should be in mint condition and not need any refurbishment. It shouldn't need a new dashpad and the roof weatherstripping shouldn't be crumbling and falling apart. It should have a flawless exterior paint finish that's consistent throughout. You might also want to include a picture of the inside of the trunk and engine compartment verifying their excellent condition. Also the verbal description in the ad (the numbers never matched on Oldsmobiles of this vintage) should be accurate and not misleading. Therefore I feel the asking price is too high and if the vehicle is in sound mechanical condition a figure maybe somewhere in the mid-teens might be more appropriate. 1

At the end of the 1958 model year, October 1958, Motor Trend had an article in which they printed comments from readers: "Why I Didn't Buy a '58 Car." Sales weren't good during that model year, and not just because of a brief economic recession. Even when the cars were new, plenty of people thought the designers had gone overboard with chrome!
