NTX5467
Putting the epoxy paste/coating on the well seals of a QJet has been common during a rebuild since the late 1960s. In those earlier times, if the car was hard to start the first time in the morning or whenever, it was because those soldered well seals had let the float bowl seep into the plenum. There was also a thick foam-type insert for below the float bowl, too. There was also an insert into the float bowl which diverted the incoming fuel to the bottom of the float bowl, decreasing the bowl capacity even more.
