1929 Chrysler 75 observations

Okay so I’m in the process of dismantling a 29 Chrysler 75 chassis for parts etc. and I have found a few interesting things.  
first observation is that is had been an open type car and possibly had been made into a ute at some stage. My reasoning for this is that it has an open car type cowl and also these brackets at the back of the chassis for either a luggage rack or maybe support for a ute tray
 

Another thing I noticed on the cowl were some holes near where the cowl lamps would be attached. These looked like the may have been made for conduits for the cowl light wiring unlike all other 75’s I have seen but I have seen a few 65’s in Australia with the style of cowl light. 

 

Now with the cowl out of the road I see that the brake master cylinder is also different to any of my other 75’s so I guess this must have been changed out at some stage. 

 

Any thoughts on what this might be out of? 
 

Anyway I will see what else I discover along the way and see if any of you have thoughts/observations on this car. By the way the car is located in Australia. Thanks

Yeah that was my initial thoughts as well but the one remains of a mudguard shows no signs of the spare being mounted there so it still has me scratching my head.

Hole appears to be in the wrong place for the sidemount.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking but just not the standard cowl light that I see on most cars. Which then has me scratching my head was the a special order/ custom body unfortunately the Fedco badge has long since gone either rusted off or has been levered off mind you I think probably rusted off. Looks like it was bolted on not riveted/welded on. Some have told me this was done on local bodied car but then I was told no series 75’s were bodied locally and I guess I’m still sitting on the fence as far as this goes as I have not seen any hard evidence to indicate either way  but Happy to be convinced either way

Hey Vintageben, the position of the holes in the cowl would suggest cowl light brackets, but more of the type for 72 models (external wire through conduit) and not like the model 75 with internal wiring, just my 2 cents worth.

That’s exactly what I was thinking but it’s definitely a 75. Local body/custom body or just an anomaly who knows and I’m guessing I will never know for sure not that it really matters as it only good for parts but I’m always interested to learn more.

Yes very had to work out but the Body Builder might have had some of the 72 cowl lights left over in stock when they started producing the model 75.
