emmd61
Just bought a 1964 Oldsmobile Starfire. Driver quality. It appears to have a lot of options. Body tag only lists "2K". The car has AC, PW, Power vent, Power antenna, wonder bar, cornering lights, cruise, autronic eye. Just trying to figure if these were added later or 2K is a package of accessories. Any advice/insight appreciated.
joe_padavano
Not all the options are listed in the ACC codes on the cowl tag, just the ones that impacted Fisher Body. In this case, ACC code 2K tells Fisher to pierce the firewall for air conditioning. Power windows, vents, and antenna would also have shown up as ACC codes if they had been original equipment, so they apparently were added to this car. Wonderbar, cornering lights, cruise, and autotronic eye were installed on the main assembly line and would not have shown up on the cowl tag, so there's no way to tell. emmd61
Thank you for your reply. Where would the build sheet typically be placed? Under back seat?
joe_padavano
For a Lansing car like this one, the build sheet would typically be placed in the trash can at the end of the assembly line. Lansing made it a point not to leave the build sheets in the cars.
rocketraider
1) Low option Lansing car, no A/C, factory power antenna. 2) Highly optioned Linden car with power windows (A31), factory air (C60) and rear manual antenna (U73) which was required w/ factory air combined with any factory installed radio. Apologies for upside down photo. This damn phone has tried my patience badly today.
Barney Eaton
This link is to a site that has original brochures.... it show what was standard on the Starfire Automatic, P brakes, P steering, P windows, P seat were all standard did not find any details about a power antenna If it has the optional signal seeking radio, a power antenna was part of the package http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/static/NA/Oldsmobile/1964 Oldsmobile/1964_Oldsmobile_Prestige_Brochure/1964 Oldsmobile Prestige-34-35.html Edited June 7, 2023 by Barney Eaton (see edit history)

Coupe came with crank windows and manual seat standard.
