Fordy
Hi - Dumb assed question but I have a starter to rebuild that looks like it was dredged up from the ocean floor. I can save most of it but the brush holders are toast. Do I use the large holder from the generator to rebuild as the new starter brushes seem to fit these? I can't seem to find starter brush holders available.
vintage1
Try the company Classic Generator, www.classicgenerator.com , they sell parts for starters and might can answer your question about rebuilding the one you have.

Fordy
Thanks all - digging around and reading lots of forums it seems that old Uncle Henry used the generator brush holders for the starter brushes. Master of the "economy of scale". Why make another part when you already have one that will work!
