Hello again, trying to get my new TC up to speed, been changing all fluids, and filters.  All done except flushing the braake fluid anad bleeding the brrakes, I flushed the fluid, bled the back in accordance with the service manual, easy!!  I went to bleed the fronts starting with the right front the old fashioned way and barely got any fluid out, finally gave up, bled the front left, a little better but not correct.  I did not have the key on, so was I susspose to have key on?  Service manual did not mention this.  Anyway, when I put the front right wheel back on, the caliper was locked up, I ran the car a bit and it freed up, but I am thinking the front brake hoses have failed from the inside, had this problem years ago on a 89 Lincoln.  Any thoughts?  I ordered new hoses for both sides anyway, can't hurt, after all they are 34 years old.

I suspect you have discovered the problem yourself, the front brake hoses. I have a new pair to put on my TC as well. Keep us informed.

Would you believe.....

That just about EVERY TC I have owned has had this same problem?

And, I have owned many

Ever had a caliper lock up when you were driving? Not a good feeling

Cheap insurance to replace them all for another 34 years of reliability!!

New ones will be here on Sunday, will keep you posted, Thanks.  I had a 89 Lincoln Continental years ago, and the left rear caliper was dragging, you could just feel the heat from it, I changed the caliper and it still dragged, my father in law at the time who was a mechanic told me the brake hose was bad, I told him BS!!!  never heard of such nonsense, well he told me to open the bleeder and if fluid shoots out, change the hose, well he was right and I am a true believer now, LOL  BTW, I am originally from Missouri, so I had to be shown.
