Sorry guys, I'm not good with cars by memory.

It's labeled 1927 and plate verifies this.

Guessing this to be a 1928 New Victory Six model?

Beautiful Coupe

According to the caption online:

Henry Ford met with Ford Motor Company branch managers aboard the Hornet, a 96-foot steam yacht owned by Horace Dodge. Horace, along with his brother John, operated Dodge Brothers Company, which produced transmissions, axles, and engine parts for Ford's Model T. The Dodge brothers began manufacturing their own automobiles in 1914.

Any truth to the fact it was Horace's yacht?

I personally have a hard time believing that one.

Has anyone ever seen one of these signs in a photo or otherwise?

I think it would be amazing to see this sign as it was probably a deep Cobalt Blue with White or Clear letters I'm guessing based on the description. I'm thinking of making a larger metal version (2'x6') for my shop now that I've seen this. From a 1922 Bulletin

David, there are several items like this ad piece in the Confidential Information papers. I find it fascinating that we don't find them for sale now. I wonder where they all got to.

I often wonder if we've seen them and may not even know it since they were probably advertised under a different automakers name?
Meaning, maybe someone knows of a Cadillac or Ford that has one of these bodies but maybe they are badged Cadillac or Ford. How would we really know at first glance until we dug deeper.

The Canada Cycle Company were the agents for Dodge Brothers cars in Melbourne Australia in the 1920’s. To promote the opportunities for various businesses including tourism and agriculture a “Reso” tour (National Resources and Development) (acronyms in 1927) was organised by the Victorian Commissioner for Railways. The rail only went as far as Oodnadatta so Vehicles were sourced for the inland exploration, these were Dodge Brothers in the main.

Wow, that is amazing stuff. Thank you for sharing some of the early Australia happenings. Imagine there is much more out there...

Here's something I thought was interesting. Not a photo but still very unique and hardly discussed.

How many of us can say we've seen this Graham Brothers logo before?

Some of you may recall a unique GB emblem on eBay about a year ago that went for a pretty penny, I believe it had this same logo on it if memory serves me correct. Did anyone save a photo of it or did anyone on here buy it? Would love to know if we can learn more about the years it was used.

If there is any logic to DB/GB this SHOULD be 1919 to 1921. I have not seen this insignia before that I noticed. The Speed Truck ad I saw last week was from 1919 and GB started building truck under contract to DB in 1921. Prior to 1919 GB built Truck Builder trucks, like the DBC owns. I was just sent pictures of a Truck Builder down under in a museum. The pictures were taken some time ago, not sure if the truck is still there.

Some more family photos. 22AB85CF-2DF0-4782-810B-C48EE0449330.jpeg.1257b8244352d6d0b51770e1cc45ecb5.jpegMy wife’s granddad was a road building contractor. The government came and took all his equipment from him in the start of the war and took it all to Darwin to build airstrips. They basically gave him nothing for it all.

Judes dad only bought this album to us on Tuesday just gone. He is a spritely 93 one of the men that really built this country by hard work.

Isn't it amazing what you find while simply looking through old photos for answers.

This lil Graham Bros panel sitting on the streets of LA was another pleasant surprise this morning.

This panel is very similar to the one I saved from eBay recently to study

By 1931/32 they had changed a bit when the F10/UF10 was released. No visor, different emblems, oval radiator cap etc... Subtle differences but interesting to study. I'm sure you guys who study the car models can relate.

I wasn't going to post this for obvious reasons but I think it shows how far we've come in society no matter what some will have you believe in todays news.

I'm sure most of us can look past the degrading message and agree in the beauty of this commercial car while recognizing it for it's historical content in automotive context.

In front of the main branch of PG&E Circa 1931. One of many Dodge Brothers cars and trucks that were in their fleet.

My reason for posting this is to give us hope that many more may be waiting to be found.
