Roger Frazee Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 I recently purchased a Chrysler TC service manual (red cover) but it does not cover the 2.2L eight valve engine. It only covers the 16V and the 3.0L engines. I noticed there is also a service manual with a blue cover. Is that the one I need for my 8V engine?

Roger Frazee Posted March 5, 2023 Author Posted March 5, 2023 Yes. Is there a removable plug in the cooling system for purging the air when doing a flush & fill?
Hemi Dude Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 (edited) BUT, the plug is very difficult to remove. Edited March 5, 2023 by Hemi Dude (see edit history) 1
Hemi Dude Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 If you cannot remove the plug, you can get most of the blocked air out by bleeding at either locations here, the upper one being preferable. 1
Roger Frazee Posted March 6, 2023 Author Posted March 6, 2023 You were right about that plug being hard to get out. A hex wrench with a 2' piece of pipe wouldn't budge it. But after spraying it for 30 seconds with Freeze Out, it broke loose. Thanks for your help, Hemi. 1

Hemi Dude Posted March 9, 2023 Posted March 9, 2023 Very impressive Barney, here is the car I was the mechanic on for Bo Duke. I know him as John. And if you have any connection with him, please give him my sincere condolences on the passing of his wife. Hemi.
