What happened to Northwestern Auto Supply?

Did anyone buy out Northwestern Auto Supply in Grand Rapids, MI?

Not any one particular business or individual bought them out in the whole.    Several individuals bought specific portions of the inventory.    Olson Gasket bought most of their gaskets,  while other people bought portions of their inventory that were up their line of expertise.    We bought the ignition parts inventory and have been told the remaining stock of parts was sold to an ebay seller.     As I understand the building is still there and they are continuing to try to sell it.

Over the years, I had a number of conversations with Sam Ashendorf at Northwestern Auto Supply.  Given the similarity of our last names, we bonded a bit.  He was able to find some useful parts for me.  I was sorry to hear that he had passed and that the company is gone.

I always liked talking with Lenny, the counterman. Maybe he got a job as a radio announcer.
