Wayne R Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Thought i would show this, as i have fitted new tops over the years to a 69 Skylark, and a 69 Electra convertibles. When i purchased this 64 Electra convertible from US three years ago ,i was aware it had a very bad rear window and rotten top pads, but the actual vinly top in fairly good condition, so about 4 months ago ordered new rear window and pads from US, and just finished this latest job last week. What i would like to mention is , its probably just as hard and difficult as fitting a brand new top, because one has to remove the total top anyway,--i started at rear first then worked to front. The worst job on this model is fitting the window and top to the actual rear water gutter steel rail that raps round at lower rear, up inside trunk while keeping the window in a tight position. Cost for new window and pads from US was $220.00 plus shipping. But in the end worked out ok, and i can now see when driving with top up. 5
