I purchased a brass updraft Stromberg M4 at a farm sale in N.W. Oregon. Very difficult finding applications of this carb other than Curtiss airplane engine. Any help appreciated. Properly cleaned, looks good on mantle.

Larry - a decade ago I almost bought a 1920’s REVERE touring car with a Rochester-Duesenberg walking beam engine. Gorgeous engine that was running. A Rochester-Duesenberg walking beam engine is equipped with a Stromberg M-4 updraft carb. I have the advertisement that confirms this. That is a racing engine that needs that big M-4 inlet.

I have a Stromberg M-4 on a Wisconsin model PT engine T-head (1,090 c.i.d.) used in a Lombard Tractor-Truck circa 1926.

They were also used on Wisconsin's large marine engines as well.

Here are a couple of cuts from the Lombard parts manual.

I want to thank you for the responses, made our conversation piece question, by everyone, better answered. The M4 joins an M3 and aftermarket sidedraft Holley for Model T's on the mantle for our enjoyment and all who come to visit.
