JZRIV Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 (edited) Came across this locally on a routine Riv search. If I ever saw one of these I can't recall it. How common are they? I was never into the model type toys and collectibles. https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/clt/d/pittsburgh-cox-thimble-drome-1964-buick/7581198585.html Selling rare cox thimble drome 1/20 scale 1964 buick riviera tether car.powered by .049 glow engine.car is in real nice condition with only the left wing window pulled missing .no box comes with instructions. $200.00 call Edited January 24, 2023 by JZRIV (see edit history) 2
Chasander Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 (edited) You can find these in better condition for closer to $125 (AMT 1/25) Edited January 25, 2023 by Chasander (see edit history)
wimpyv6 Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 What is different and unique compared to the AMT version is that the Cox cars (Riviera, Stingray, GT 40, Chaparral and other versions) were actually gas powered. Looking at the fuel label, it has some nitromethane in it. You could drag race, run them in a circle or race them on a slot car type track. 1
