RGILL
I recently posted about a non working (has power, but will not play or eject) cassette player, with a response that it was probably a boken drive belt. Can it be replaced without taking the whole unit out and how do I get the tape that's in there out without doing further damage? Thanks, you all have been very helpful in the past. padgett
a) removal and major disassembly is required to replace the belt - think Jim Finn's son was doing them. any attempt to force the door is liable to break it off. Just keep pushing eject and you may get lucky.
TheBlackMoon
Try having repaired, then when connected, you'll be able to hit eject and keep rocking and rolling, assuming tape is NOT the cause of stereo's problem in the first place. If so, expect to lose the tape in the repair.Good luck.
Booreatta
Sent mine to United Radio in East Syracuse N.Y. sent it on a tuesday and had it back the first of the next week. Has a one year warrantee and the cost was $103.50 including shippingand it works great. Their phone number is 1-800-448-0944. You mightwant to call them and ask about the tape that is stuck to see if it will come out with out damage
NYBobP
I took my '90 convert into United Radio last year with the same problem. Luckily they are right here in town. They did a great job in fixing the cassette and saved the tape too.
