60FlatTop Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 I will add to those best wishes as well. Last year was a low point for old car miles driven at my place. I hope every one's travel increases this year. Even the short country rides. 7
EmTee Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 Well, I managed to put ~3,000 miles on the '38 last year. The Glidden accounted for about 1,200 of those miles. Unfortunately, the Riviera and particularly the GP suffered as a result with well under 1,000 miles apiece for them. This year I hope to spread the love a little more evenly... Hope everyone here on the forum takes @old-tank's advice and kills lots of bugs in 2023! 4 2

With the windshield and not fogging them with tailpipe smoke . . . Be sure to stock up on those extendable scrubber/squeegees, too. Edited January 1, 2023 by NTX5467 (see edit history) 3

60FlatTop Posted January 1, 2023 Posted January 1, 2023 One of the guys down at the store said "To clean the windshield real good you need to have a corncob soaking in a bucket of vinegar to scrub it off with." I'm just sitting here wondering how I would ever be able to come up with a corn cob between now and suppertime. Those old goats talk about scarceas hen's teeth and I know alive chicken would be just as hard to find. 1 5
Marty Roth Posted January 2, 2023 Posted January 2, 2023 Here's hoping for a better year. Last year (2022) was an almost complete bust for us. Locally, other than a couple of drives to the Lafayette/New Iberia "Dine & Drive" events, and a couple of CORSA Corvair lunch drives, it was just club meetings in between ongoing medical appointments. We did get to travel 140 miles from home to drive the 2022 Founders Tour - even though it was less inspiring/exciting/enjoyable in the 1995 Grand Marquis. After judging the AACA Grand National in Virginia Beach, we also drove the Eastern Divisional Tour in Johnstown, PA, but even that was tempered, driving modern since the 1937 Buick Roadmaster was not quite ready for "Showtime/Drivertime"! Plans for touring the month of September quickly fell apart when Dale's chemo schedule interfered with the Dates for the Sentimental Tour, as well as the Glidden, and of course the AACA Reliability Tour, scheduled in between Sentimental and Glidden was cancelled (we still don't know why?). Of course the idea of scheduling four (4) consecutive weeks of AACA activities in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and New Jersey would have been fine - IF you live in that immediate area . Not so much if any reasonable travel is involved. Hopefully, there will be efficient scheduling, and maybe even Inter-Club cooperation in coming years (well - we can hope, can't we?) Despite the downside of 2022, we look forward to visiting, driving, judging, and socializing with y'all. 6 1
