JIM STOTESBERY Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 I bought a 1934 Pontiac, 4dr. sedan, with just 9000 mile on it ! I have to go down to Iowa, and get it up here to Wisconsin, in the Spring . My question; the original battery was a Delco 7 G-W ? 107 Amp Hour, 17 plates . I have Not been able to measure the battery box, yet, for size . In the USA, we use CCA, a lot of the would still uses Amp. Hour . There is really no connection between the two, other that some formula, like Ah X 7.25 = CCA, and I do Not think that is too accurate ! What size/capacity battery are 1934 Pontiac owners, using ? JIM
Kornkurt Posted December 26, 2022 Posted December 26, 2022 They used a Group 1 6 volt. I have an Optima in mine, have to lean it to make it fit. I live in Iowa, what town did you find the car in? 1
JIM STOTESBERY Posted December 27, 2022 Author Posted December 27, 2022 It was found in La Clair, Ia., where Mike and Frank ( American Pickers ), 1st location is; they did Not know it was there ! My two Cusins and my Uncle bought it in 1967, from the original owner; been siting in a garage, in DeWitt, Ia, all that time ! They also bought, a Parts car, so I get all of those pieces, too . 1
vintage1 Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 A couple of companies that have batteries for your car, Battery Central Mall, https://batterycentralmall.com and SEH, https://www.classic-batteries.com
Marty Roth Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Also NAPA and Tractor Supply generally carry that Group 1 Battery
