Hudsy Wudsy
I always see these '55 & '56 Chryslers and DeSotos as great examples of cars that are worth considerably more as two-door hardtops than four-doors. Even in pink. Edited November 25, 2023 by Hudsy Wudsy (see edit history)
Bloo
I had a 1955 Firedome Special, pink and white. It was this same pink. A FIredome Special is a bottom of the range 2 door hardtop. I don't recall any pink inside. It had a very plain interior that was white and mouse gray. These are brilliant cars, and I liked everything about it except the pink. The brakes are a pain to sort out, but when you finally get them right they are very good and confidence inspiring, way ahead of most cars of the period. Even the 2-speed automatic with it's tiny shifter hanging out of the dash wasn't that bad. I'd prefer a 3 speed stick but I have never seen one. Someone posted a 56 for sale about a year ago that had a stick, so I suppose it's possible that one was available in 55 too.
kingrudy
Now that I remember, when I was a little kid my grandfather had a '57 Chrysler coupe that was pink and white. He always took excellent care of his cars. Now that was a beautiful car. Edited November 21, 2022 by kingrudy (see edit history)

I saw an unrestored column shift Firedome Special 2-door hardtop for sale in the Carlisle Car Corral many years ago, it was gray with a white top. I thought it was an unusual car at the time. Also saw a rough & rusty 3 on the tree 1955 Sportsman 2-door hardtop in black & white pulled out of the woods in a You Tube video. That one has a very plain looking steering wheel & horn ring.

DrumBob
I would be happy to own this car, as I'm a fan of Shell Pink, but it's not for everybody, obviously. He's had to come way down on his price. You could perhaps get it for less if you showed up with cash in hand.

Possibly a stuck lifter which could be "cured/freed up" with a good engine flush and "mouse-milk" additives? At a slightly Low-Ball offer, this could be worth a try, but way too far away for folks in my area, considering likely transport costs. Then again, my preference would have been a 1956 with a 12 volt system, so easier to add A/C, and the water stains on the rear seat are discouraging, as well Edited December 30, 2023 by Marty Roth (see edit history)

Are those transferable like any other title? I think if I lived closer for that price I'd take a chance on it being a valve stuck. The odds of it being something much more serious would seem rather slim. Especially with that low miles.

The title isn't Non-op. That's the registration. It allows you to pay no fees while you aren't driving it and you can return it to operating status at any time. Has nothing to do with selling it unless you are in California, and then it's a good thing.
