Brake Shoe Relining in Eastern PA

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to reach out and see if someone knew of anyone that can reline brake shoes and sleeve drums near the eastern PA area.  I have a 1935 Desoto SG Airflow that needs new shoes and at a bare minimum the drums machined, potentially sleeved.  I want to try and keep it local especially for the drums to try and keep down shipping costs.  If there are no local places, who do you all recommend me send out my shoes and drums too?

Thanks

Best answer is to replace the drum if it is rutted and worn past the limit.  But it may just need to be turned on a brake lathe. If you can find a garage who still has a brake lathe. Back then brake drums were made extra thick so they could be turned a few times during their service life, today they are a throw away part.

I have heard of building up worn drums with a metal spray process. Then turning them to stock size. An Australian member described the process here a few years ago. Maybe you can find a metal spray specialist in your area.
