DFeeney
I was looking for a hood for my speedster project this year at Hershey. I found this hood for $20. I believe it might be 1928 Buick or WK. Notice the fluted front edge of the hood where it matches the radiator shell. The side panels are 39 3/4 " wide. Any experts out there to comment? I would encourage you to build a speedster. There are a lot of fun and can be low cost. Oregon Desert model 45
Looks more like Packard to me. The stainless center hinge suggests higher end car. When Buick added a crease to the hood in 1929, the raised area around the louvers was deleted, so this is not Buick.
DFeeney
Thanks for your reply, I am always amazed at the knowledge on this forum. I guess $20 for a good Packard hood is a good deal.
keiser31
I was thinking Packard, too, but I could not find a photo of one with the spear shape on the upper edge/side like the hood in question.
DFeeney
John, I have always admired your keen eye and attention to detail. If I ever get involved with a "Lady" friend again ( At my age , their not worth the trouble) perhaps I could forward her picture to you for advice. Let us hope your area remains free from future fires. Life is Good, Don 1
1937hd45
At some time the belt molding changed on Packard and there are "Open" and "Closed" body hoods. Edited November 3, 2022 by 1937hd45 (see edit history)

DFeeney
A Packard person thought it was from a 1924 Packard 2-26. It seemed to match his picture.
