1937McBuick
1937 Buick Special Coupe. Did anyone have their sending unit from their gas tank repaired? The linkage on mine was actually seized but I managed to free it without physically damaging it. The linkage seems a bit sloppy so maybe this sending unit isn't a good candidate for repair to start with. But there is no resistance reading when the float lever is moved within its range of travel. The rheostat must be broken. I bought a new sending unit, supposedly modifiable to make work. But the mounting hole configuration,as is, has it oriented in the tank about 90 degrees off where it's supposed to be. Holes would have to be re-drilled and possibly the external pipe bent to have it face the gas line on the car. Just wondering if anyone had their original repaired and where they had it done. edinmass
Just installed this one on the 34 Series 56C....direct fit. Reads perfect. Easy as pie. Measure your tank, buy the right length. For the 50 series 7 inch was the correct length. 1937McBuick
Nice part about that style is there is no leaver linkage or orientation issues. The screw/bolt holes my tank aren't symmetrically spaced. Just saying. Edited October 28, 2022 by 1937McBuick (see edit history)
