I have no personal interest or stake in the eventual sale of this 1958 Studebaker President 2dr Hardtop - Project.

Note: As noted by the seller, these are a "low production top of line only 1171 produced" model, the last year for the President.  The J-Body designated; sedan series-based two door hardtop was new for 1958.  The Commander (2,555), President (1,171) and Packard (675) comprised approximately 8.2% of overall sales.  Although the initial tooling costs were likely not recouped this first year, with modifications, the tooling served as the basis for the Lark hardtops and convertible.   Although they're scarce with a low survival rate, few of these are restored even in the Studebaker Drivers Club, representing a unique opportunity for those who seek out the unusual.

Almost as ugly as the 1958 Paclard wagon posted elsewhere on the forum.

Yes, every 1958 Packard was a slight restyle of a 1958 Studebaker President.  They received all the styling detail "benefits' bestowed upon those plus the Packard-specific styling highlights such as the 'Electrolux' frontal treatment and the holdover 1956 Packard Clipper taillights grafted into the rear fender ends.  Plus, those swept, abbreviated tail fins inspired by the 1957 'Sweep-Wing" Dodges.
